Saintfield hosted Bangor Swifts hoping to avenge a 3-1 loss from two weeks ago. Saintfield should have taken the lead from two early opportunities and the visitors had a penalty appeal turned down.
A good passing move helped negate the strong wind and saw Adam Childs open the scoring.
Swifts were able to use the strong wind to deliver dangerous forward balls into the Saintfield box and responded with a sustained period of pressure which tested the Saintfield defence. It was from a counter attack that the Saints doubled their lead as Ciaran Taylor finished a good move.
With the wind to their back in the 2nd half Saintfield were able to apply pressure to the Swifts backline and they took advantage with two further goals from set pieces from Callum McCloskey and Tony Liken. As the game got stretched Saintfield had further opportunities to score but failed to convert.
Four different scorers and a clean sheet were a pleasing reward from a tricky game.
Goal Scorers: Adam Childs (1), Ciaran Taylor (1), Callum McCloskey (1), Tony Liken (1)
